Last Friday, I went to LACMA afterschool for the first time. It was for a bio extra credit trip, but who would pass that up, especially if it meant going to LA, right? Anyways, I was extremely lucky to go. Funny story actually. During 5th period, my bio teacher refunded my money for the trip, because apparently, it was already filled. In just two days, the trip was booked (fifty students could only go) and I unfortunately turned mine in on the third day. So six people, including me, had our money refunded and the worst part about it was the fact that my teacher gave it back on the day of the trip! I already told my mom I was going. I planned on going to the bio trip with my friend, Valerie, but I texted her telling her I couldn't go.
Afterschool, she called me and told me she didn't want to go anymore. But after 10 minutes of insisting that she went, Val finally gave in. Still she literally dragged me off school campus to where all the bio people were waiting for the bus. I felt super awkward standing there and it literally took all my courage to go up to my bio teacher and ask if there were any extra seats. He said if there were extras, I could go, so he told me to wait. And I did. From the time when Valerie dragged me to the bus, I knew I had no chance of going and I was the only person waiting for a spot in the bus. And guess what?? THEY HAD 4 EXTRA SEATS. Literally, the luckiest day of my life. If not for Valerie, I wouldn't have gone at all and never experience such an amazing trip! Above it all, Praise the Lord because He is so good to me!

Overall, the LACMA bio trip was one of the most wonderful experiences in my life. I'll definitely be going back. Thanks to Valerie again for making this memorable for me! Everything was so simple and plain in the art galleries, but something about that, gave it a stunning, beautiful perspective. If you are looking for a place to just hang out with friends or family, go to LACMA. You won't regret it!
Yours truly,
Melanie
